I've had some dark hours

Finally I have to admit that I am stuck with my “Sunlight” script.

I’ve read it through and it is absolutely stunningly great.

But stuck in mud. Deep, heavy and sticky mud.

I’ve decided to put it in resting mode and dive into two other ideas. One new and one old.

“ERG” (the real title tells too much) and “The Beautymaker” (my third feature script – horrible).

I have to keep moving.

I know that one day “Sunlight” will lift itself out of the mud and I’ll fly on its wings, but it's not today.

Today I'll enjoy the green spring in my mind, following new, less muddy roads.

I think maybe you're right. I've found that sometimes, when I get stuck, if I stop consciously thinking about the problem my subconscious mind keeps working and a solution just "pops up".

I certainly don't understand how the process works, but I know that it does!

Besides - we're coming into that part of the year when you need all the sunshine you can find!

I read or heard in a seminar once that the brain works best if it's not "pushed". Maybe it's true.

(I remember I tried that at an exam. I read it all through first, hoping that the brain would do some work for me on its own :-)

I'm sure it will come to you - I've been meaning to say for a while, I love reading your blog it really inspires me as a young script writer!

I only wish I had the time around school and homework to get stuck in and finish one!

Thank you for your kind words, Scarlett.

P.S. Try to write a page a day. It does not take long, but moves you forwards all the time.

Good decision to move on, because finishing a good work without inspiration for a good ending is like writing nothing and then you loose your project for ever.
